Developing an agricultural biodiversity policy for China

China Workshop Report Cover

There is currently no specific agricultural biodiversity policy in China. At a recent workshop, organized by Bioversity International and hosted by the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy, a diverse group of 20 researchers reviewed national and international policy and legal developments and shared experiences on promoting sustainable use and conservation. They recommend, in particular, strengthening the policy and legal support for community-based efforts and innovations concerning in situ conservation of agricultural biodiversity and crop improvement.
